Why it matters

Why organisations pursue recognition.

Recognition is not just a certificate on the wall. It changes how your people become chartered, how their development is valued inside and out, and how your organisation is seen.

Recognised to the ChPP standard

Align your internal development scheme with the globally recognised ChPP standard. A prestigious distinction from the chartered body that sets your organisation apart.

Credibility that travels

Organisations that produce ChPPs signal high external credibility for your people. It carries weight with clients, boards and regulators, not just inside.

Chartership without the paperwork

Give your most experienced people a route to chartership that recognises their experience. No long application, and a much shorter interview.

Unlock pathway 4 to ChPP for your people

The headline advantage. Practitioners assessed under your recognised scheme reach Chartered Project Professional through Pathway 4. No individual application to compile, no full assessment interview, just a single short professional discussion. You control the standard, and the route becomes far lighter for every candidate.

Those assessed under your recognised scheme can reach ChPP through Pathway 4. A simplified path that recognises their experience and your assessment.

Case study

How bp earned APM Recognised Assessment.

A worked example of the outcome we help organisations reach. PM Elevation exists because its founder led a major enterprise all the way to recognition.

The challenge

A complex, high-governance enterprise needed its internal assessment scheme to meet the APM’s external standard. It had to prove the assessment, not just develop its people.

What Davy built

The competency framework, assessor capability, and the governance and moderation that hold quality over time. These are the same components we now build with clients.

The outcome

Recognition secured, the programme recognised on film by the APM, and a scheme bp’s own people continue to run.

The process

How we secure recognition with you.

Four phases take you from where you stand today to recognition. Informed by direct experience securing scheme recognition, and the knowledge of an ex-APM assessor.

The Challenge
The Challenge

Meeting the required standard.

Most organisations already run development activity. The harder task is proving the assessment behind it meets the standard for external recognition.

CHALLENGE 01

Built to develop, not assess

Many internal frameworks are designed to support development and progression but were never created to operate as externally recognised assessment schemes.

How we answer it We design around the assessment, ensuring compliance from the start.
CHALLENGE 02

Evidence requirements are often underestimated

Recognition requires evidence that many organisations have not yet formally established to the required level.

How we answer it We know what the APM looks for, embedding this into everything we do.
CHALLENGE 03

Governance creates credibility

The quality of a recognised assessment programme depends on robust governance that is tested by the APM regularly.

How we answer it We build a sustainable system that stays aligned with the APM.

How does Pathway 4 actually change things for our candidates?
Under a recognised scheme, your own assessors evaluate candidates against the ChPP standard in-house. Each candidate then sits a single professional interview of roughly 30 minutes with the APM, the full written application and long assessment interview of the standard route fall away. They still become Chartered Project Professionals; the route is simply lighter, and you control the standard behind it.
We already have a competency framework. Do we start over?
Rarely. Discovery begins by assessing what you have against the recognition criteria, then we refine rather than replace where the foundations are sound. The goal is a framework that earns recognition and that your organisation still recognises as its own.
How long does recognition take?
Typically two to three months, depending on your starting maturity and the population in scope. Discovery sets the depth of the work; from there the phases run to a clear set of evidence milestones so progress stays visible throughout.
What remains in-house once the engagement ends?
The framework, the trained assessors and the governance are yours. We deliberately build capability that you sustain, with the option of periodic moderation and reassessment support to hold the standard over time.
Can a programme cover a single directorate rather than the whole organisation?
Yes. Engagements are scoped to the population you are accountable for: a directorate, a delivery function or an enterprise. The model is the same; the boundary is yours to set.
